I started my career as a special education teacher and taught school for 14 years. I received my masters in Teresa HarrisonSchool Psychology in 1990 and obtained my doctorate degree in Psychology from Trevecca University in 2014. I work as a school psychologist for three schools in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and am now counseling outside the school system as well. I love my profession! In the school system, I work with elementary, middle and high school age children along with teachers and parents. Much of that work is focused on testing and ensuring the best services for children for their academic success. I also counsel children on many different issues. One of those issues is dealing with divorce, and outside the school system, I counsel men and women of all ages. As I counsel primarily in Clarksville, TN, I have several clients from Ft. Campbell and have a lot of experience in counseling for PTSD. My goal is to create healthy minds and healthy family relationships.
I was married for 22 years before I divorced in 2002. My children were ages 18 and 16 when my divorce was final. I believe that my experience gives me good insight as to how people cope with divorce and some of the issues that occur in families due to divorce. I have experienced a lot of the feelings and emotions that parents go through when divorcing, along with the relationship changes that continue far beyond the divorce. I welcome the opportunity to work with you!
